Nuremberg Chronicle, 1493 – illustrated encyclopedia of the history of the world in relation to the bible, an incunabulum (early printed work), one of the first to successfully integrate illustrations (woodcuts) and text, estimated 1500 Latin copies published. Woodcuts by the Wolgemut workshop, where Albrecht Durer worked as an apprentice; published by Anton Koberger, Durer’s godfather.
